Originally founded by the city fathers in 1922, Oregon City Golf Club at Lone Oak was transformed into a 9-hole course from the farmland and orchards known as "Lone Oak Farm."
Owned and operated by the Herberger family since 1949, Joe and May Rose raised their six children on the course itself, instilling in them a profound devotion to the family business. In 1960, a second nine was added, creating an 18-hole, 5872 yard course situated on over 100 acres of gently rolling terrain with picturesque views.
The course's well maintained tree-lined fairways and generous greens offer a challenging and visually appealing walking or riding experience while, excellent drainage and a progressive maintenance program provide an attractive setting to patrons, year-round, from all over the Pacific Northwest . Golf Digest Magazine has listed this course in their "Best Places to Play" edition.
Oregon City Golf Course at Lone Oak is the third-oldest public golf course in Oregon and proudly remains family owned and is currently operated by John Herberger and Rosemary Herberger-Holden.
